No puedo quedarme”.

Me levanté, hice ejercicios vocales, respiré profundo y tomé fuerzas.

I want to share something very personal with you that happened to me recently and left me with a great lesson: when you do things with passion, no obstacle is greater than your desire to fulfill what has been entrusted to you.

On Sunday, I had an important assignment: to sing and lead a special moment of worship. It wasn’t just about standing in front of a microphone — it was about transmitting something deep, expressing what I had been preparing for days with great dedication.

On Saturday, the day before, we had a very enriching rehearsal. Each song connected us with what we were about to experience the next day. We finished feeling motivated, with our hearts on fire. But then, things started to go downhill.

That same Saturday, early in the morning, we had a devotional. And as the day went on, I started feeling unwell — pressure in my chest, hoarseness… I began to notice that my voice wasn’t how it usually is. I stayed for the rehearsal despite it all, but I could already tell something wasn’t right.

After that, I went home, cooked a meal, and returned for a singing class. Just the act of riding my motorcycle back and forth, the fatigue, and all the activities added up and started to take a toll. My chest felt tight, I started coughing, and my voice got more affected. In class, I could tell I wasn’t performing the same. My body was clearly letting me know something was off.

That night I didn’t sleep well. I woke up on Sunday feeling really bad, with my voice nearly gone. The first thought that crossed my mind was: “Should I just not go?” I had to be there at 6:30 a.m., and I honestly didn’t feel up to it. But then I stopped and told myself: “No. This is something I love, something I’m passionate about. I can’t stay behind.”

I got up, did some vocal warmups, took a deep breath, and gathered my strength. I wasn’t at 100%. In fact, my voice felt like it was at 30 or 40%. But something stronger was inside me: the desire to fulfill what had been assigned to me.

When I got to the place, many people asked if I was really going to sing like that, if I shouldn’t just rest. But I knew that even though my body was weak, my heart was steady. My voice wasn’t at its best, but the message I wanted to share didn’t rely only on that. I was the channel, the instrument. And I decided to give my best with what I had.

I sang in the first service. I sang in the second. And even though I didn’t feel well, many people came up to me, surprised by what they had heard. They couldn’t believe I sang like that in my condition. And honestly, it wasn’t just me — it was the passion, the drive, the commitment to what I love doing.

That day I learned that no excuse is strong enough when you have a meaningful reason to keep going. Tough moments aren’t meant to stop us — they’re meant to show us what we’re really made of. What matters isn’t whether you're physically at 100%, but whether you're willing to give your all with what you’ve got.

Sometimes we feel like we can’t go on because we’re sick, tired, or discouraged. But when you know you’re doing something with purpose, you find strength. That morning I left my house without a voice, but I came back with a full heart. Because I showed up. And that’s worth more than anything else.

If you’re going through something similar, if you feel like you can’t take another step, let me tell you this: don’t stop. Obstacles will always be there, but what you carry inside is more powerful. Keep going. Some rewards only come when you choose not to give up.

So be determined and never give up.
I love what I do — I’m passionate about singing and I’m passionate about music!
