La mentira | The lie

-Dime la verdad.
-¿Cuál? ¿La que repito constantemente o la oculta?
-La que soporte mi presencia.

La mentira es la opción para evadir.
A veces engaña, otras alivia.
Por las buenas o por las malas, su objetivo es evadir, huir, negar, enmascarar, camuflar, desentender.

¿Qué es más grave: decir el embuste o creerlo?

La mentira siempre es descifrable.
Es la percepción —nuestro filtro— la que acepta o no.
La realidad depende, en gran parte, de eso.
Entonces, ¿cómo distinguir?

Me mintieron.
Como persona, ciudadana, nacional y humana.

Cuando la mentira se vuelve sistema, es atroz.

Mintieron al mundo entero.
Tan expertos en falsedades que pocos exigieron evidencias o argumentos.
Mientras quienes mostraban sus heridas abiertas,
los ojos llorosos
y el alma quebrada,
repasaban una y otra vez la inclemencia del recuerdo justificando justicia.

Nadie extrañó lo que sobraba.
Muchos dudaron del hambre, la miseria y el silencio.

Solo Dios será justo.
Porque no hay poder en la tierra que castigue la atrocidad ni los crímenes.
Solo Dios dará el alivio, la fuerza
y el camino que soporte
la verdad presente.

Lies are an option for evasion.
Sometimes they deceive, other times they soothe.
One way or another, their purpose is to evade, flee, deny, mask, camouflage, disengage.

What is more serious: telling the lie or believing it?

A lie is always decipherable.
It is perception—our filter—that accepts it or not.
Reality depends, in large part, on that.
So how do we distinguish?

I was lied to.
As a person, a citizen, a national being, and a human being.

When a lie becomes a system, it is atrocious.

They lied to the entire world.
So skilled in falsehoods that few demanded evidence or arguments.
While those who showed their open wounds,
tearful eyes,
and broken souls
replayed, again and again, the harshness of memory—justifying justice.

No one missed what was left over.
Many doubted hunger, misery, and silence.

Only God will be just.
Because there is no power on earth that punishes atrocity or crime.
Only God will give the relief, the strength,
and the path that can sustain
the present truth.
