Last weekend, when I went to my grandmother’s house, I had a very special encounter with a small and energetic companion: Ruby.

As soon as I arrived, she came to greet me right at the entrance. First, she started sniffing me, as if she were trying to figure out who I was and decide whether she could trust me. After a few pets, however, the friendship was already established. Ruby is very affectionate, and once she realizes that you like her, she quickly becomes your friend.

She is a Beagle who was found abandoned in the middle of a dirt road. In fact, it seems that she was the one who found my uncle. He took care of her for some time, but when Ruby grew up, he had to take her to my grandmother’s house, where she would have more space.

Before that, Ruby spent much of the day tied up because she used to run after people. This happened because the neighbors’ dogs would bark at her, making her restless and agitated. However, my grandmother noticed that Ruby was sad from spending so much time tied up and decided to take care of her.

Since then, Ruby has been living with more freedom, space, and affection. Today, she seems much happier and has also become gentler. It was wonderful to meet such a lively little companion and to see how much attention and care have made a difference in her life.

No último fim de semana, quando fui à casa da minha avó, tive um encontro muito especial com uma pequena e animada companheira: Ruby.

Assim que cheguei, ela veio me receber logo na entrada da casa. Primeiro, começou a me cheirar, como se estivesse tentando descobrir quem eu era e decidir se poderia confiar em mim. Depois de alguns carinhos, porém, a amizade estava feita. Ruby é muito carinhosa e, quando percebe que você gosta dela, rapidamente se torna sua amiga.

Ela é uma Beagle que foi encontrada abandonada no meio de uma estrada de terra. Na verdade, parece que foi ela quem encontrou meu tio. Ele cuidou dela durante algum tempo, mas, quando Ruby cresceu, precisou levá-la para a casa da minha avó, onde havia mais espaço para ela.

Antes disso, Ruby passava boa parte do dia presa em uma corrente, pois costumava correr atrás das pessoas. Isso acontecia porque os cachorros dos vizinhos ficavam latindo e acabavam deixando-a agitada. No entanto, minha avó percebeu que ela ficava triste por passar tanto tempo presa e decidiu ficar responsável por ela.

Desde então, Ruby tem vivido com mais liberdade, espaço e carinho. Hoje, ela parece muito mais feliz e também se tornou mais dócil. Foi muito bom conhecer essa pequena companheira tão animada e perceber como a atenção e o cuidado fizeram diferença em sua vida.
