Stop Tab-Hopping: Build Your Hive Command Center with Ecency Decks

A normal feed is built for reading. One column, newest first, scroll until you are done. That is the right shape for a lazy evening and the wrong shape for anyone who watches Hive rather than just reads it. Curators want to see new posts the moment they land. Community owners want the room and the conversation about the room at the same time. If that is you, the single feed makes you tab-hop all day.

Decks fix the shape. At ecency.com/decks you build a dashboard out of side-by-side columns, each one a live view you chose, each refreshing on its own schedule. Drag columns to reorder them, keep up to ten separate decks for different jobs and save a deck to your account so it follows you to any device. Nothing in a deck is new data; it is the same Hive content the rest of Ecency shows. What changes is that you stop visiting it and start monitoring it.

The columns you can add

Every column type in the picker, as shipped today:

User. Follow one account: their blog, their posts, their comments, their replies, or the friends feed of what they follow. Useful for authors you curate closely, or for keeping an eye on your own output.

Community. One community's feed, filtered to Trending, Hot, New, Payouts, or Muted. The New filter is the workhorse here; more on that below.

Waves. Short-form, live. Point it at a specific wave host or watch all of them together. There is also a wave composer built into decks, so you can post a wave of up to 250 characters without leaving your columns.

Notifications. Votes, mentions, favourites, bookmarks, follows, replies, reblogs, payouts, transfers, delegations, or scheduled posts, together or split into separate columns. You choose which account the column follows.

Wallet. An account's balance or its history: transfers, market orders, interests, stake operations, rewards. Works for any account, which makes it a quiet audit tool.

Trending and Topics. What the platform is voting up right now and the most popular tags. Zero setup, pure situational awareness.

Search. A saved query as a living column, with filters for author, type, category, tags, date and sort. This is the sleeper feature of decks: any search you run more than twice deserves to become a column.

Market swap form. Swap funds directly from the deck.

Each column has its own refresh interval, from presets down to custom values between 30 seconds and 24 hours. Set a fast tick on the columns you act on and a slow one on the columns you glance at.

A deck for curators

Curation rewards the early and the consistent and a curator's deck is built for exactly that. Put the New feed of two or three communities in your niche side by side, add a Search column for your topic keywords sorted by newest and add User columns for the authors whose work you never want to miss. Set short refresh intervals on the New columns. Now good posts surface to you minutes after publication, without you refreshing anything and your voting becomes a habit instead of a scavenger hunt.

A deck for community owners

Running a community is really three jobs: see everything, spot what works, answer everyone. One deck covers all three. Column one: your community on New, so no post arrives unseen. Column two: the same community on Trending or Hot, so you know what is resonating and what to reblog. Column three: your notifications filtered to replies and mentions, so questions get answers while they are still warm. Add a Waves column for the short-form chatter around your topic and a Wallet column on the community account if funds move through it. Some people play Hive as a market of attention: what is rising, what is crowded, where a post lands well this week. Their deck is a terminal. Trending and Topics columns show where the platform's energy is right now. A Search column tuned to your niche shows who else is publishing into it. Your own Blog column plus a Notifications column filtered to votes and reblogs shows what your last move returned. A Wallet column on rewards closes the loop and the swap form is right there when you want to act on it. None of this predicts anything. It just replaces vibes with visible information, which is most of the edge anyone has.

Getting started

Open ecency.com/decks, sign in and the column picker walks you through your first deck. Start small: three columns you will actually watch beat ten you will ignore. Save the deck to your account in its settings so it syncs across devices, or keep it local to one machine if you prefer. Then let it run. The feed asks for your scrolling. A deck just waits until something worth your attention shows up.
