Ecency 4.4.0: safer logins and stronger security

Your account security is something we never stop working on. 4.4.0 is a big step for both sign-in and platform safety.

A unified Sign with Extension picker

If you have more than one browser extension installed, such as Hive Keychain, Keeper, or Peak Vault, Ecency now always asks which one you want to use and remembers your choice. No more having the wrong wallet hijack your signing. This picker is now consistent across every place you sign.

A few related wins:

• Extension login is more reliable overall.

• MetaMask snap login is hardened with a version guard and a graceful cancel, so a closed prompt no longer looks like an error.

• The transfer dialog no longer auto-prompts a wallet connection you did not ask for.

• Your account badge now shows the actual extension you signed in with.

A check against bots at signup

Free account creation is now protected by a server-verified Turnstile check. It quietly keeps bots and abuse out while staying easy for real people.

Smarter spam and quality control

New accounts that post link farms are now softly moderated, which protects search quality and keeps genuine creators visible. We also block chain-invalid usernames before you submit, so you get instant, clear feedback instead of a confusing failure later.

Safer by default

Under the hood we closed an open-redirect path, sanitized embeds, and tightened our content security policy across the app. Signup error messages are now localized too, so they speak your language.
