Crypto Quickie: REDD vs BL-... STEEM!
An old rival, Reddcoin, is gearing up for 1.0 release this month. Crypto news sites have already started trumpeting its advent and price boost.

Censorship resistance or convenience?
From what I've understood of the cursory review of various articles on REDD, here's some points that grabbed my attention:
- REDD is coming onto traditional social media platforms with its own plugins
- REDD could potentially be under threat from Bitcoin-tipping projects (if and when Lightning gets its ass in gear)
REDD does not offer a decentralised platform, and despite what cryptobriefing thinks, the regulators may still come after it -- unlimited "tipping" could possibly have money-laundering potential that STEEM lacks. Oh and on STEEM we're building a "task based microeconomy"? (Sorry 
But can we underestimate the value of convenience?

Wanted to get this out today because there seems to be no discussion of this on STEEM right now (besides price updates) and I'm going to be too busy for most of the day tomorrow. Hopefully more knowledgeable people will pick it up.
