Drink your water

Water is one of those things we know we need, but a lot of us still don’t drink enough of it. You can go through a whole day being busy with classes, work, training, or just being outside and suddenly realise you’ve barely had any water.

Your body needs water to function properly. When you’re dehydrated, you may feel tired, get headaches, struggle to concentrate, or just feel off. Sometimes, you might even think you’re hungry when you’re actually just thirsty. Drinking enough water can help you feel more awake and keep your body working the way it should.

This is especially important if you exercise or spend a lot of time in the heat. When you sweat, you lose water, so you need to replace it. If you don’t, you may feel weaker and find it harder to perform at your best.

The good thing is that drinking more water doesn’t have to be complicated. You don’t need to wait until you’re extremely thirsty before you drink. Keep a bottle with you during the day and take regular sips. Have some when you wake up, drink with your meals, and remember to drink more when you’re exercising or spending time outside.

You don’t have to force yourself to drink an unrealistic amount either. Just make it a habit and pay attention to what your body is telling you. Your urine can also give you a rough idea of your hydration. If it’s consistently very dark, you probably need to drink more.

It’s a simple habit, but it can make a real difference. So before you get caught up in your day, grab a bottle of water. Your body will thank you for it.
