What do orchids like, I wonder, and this weekend I give them a treatment

There comes a time when winter is replaced by spring, and immediately after that by summer.
During that period, I bring out the orchids that spent the winter in the apartment, withdrawn to winter, to the open terrace.
In order for them to recover after the winter period and maybe give me beautiful flowers this summer, as they did last year when I posted the pictures in this post, it is now becoming common to give them a transplant treatment.

I know that an orchid is a parasite that attaches itself to the bark of a tropical tree with its veins and thus collects the moisture it needs.

For this reason, the previous time, I went outside, in parks and forests, and looked for suitable pieces of tree bark that I inserted into their pots.
This time, I found the original Soil mix for orchids, just what they need.

The action is familiar to me, I empty the pot, shake out all the soil that is between the veins of the orchid and after that proceed to remove the diseased and rotten parts of the veins.

With sharp scissors, which I have previously sterilized, I cut the old branches that have already produced flowers, in order to allow new ones to grow.

I wash the plastic suction cup, and pour a little soil on the bottom.

I insert the root part of the plant with the veins into the pot and after that, by adding small amounts of soil, I fill the pot to the end.

First, second, third, fourth...

After half an hour, all four were transplanted.
They are going to be immersed in the drained water, so that the soil absorbs the moisture, and after that, I place them on the terrace, where they will spend the warm part of the year.

Judging by the appearance of the new leaves that are growing, as well as the new branches that are emerging, I think that they like repotting once a year.

I like it, because that's what I like to do.
