LMMS Splash Screen Design

My designs for LMMS: Linux Multi-Media Studio splash screen.
The one on the left is the one I actually use.

A "Splash Screen" simply means loading/launch screen.

Here it is broken up into the main pieces in Inkscape:

The center piece is the bottom layer which is a clipped screenshot of one of my song projects in LMMS. It's transformed to give it that perspective.

The left part is the same image blurred, but with a gradient mask.
This gives it the effect of focal-length like through a camera lens.
On the right is another gradient to vignette the top/bottom edges.
And finally the LMMS logo which uses gradients/strokes to give it the glassy look.

Here is the image used for the background with & without the square to clip it.

Also I should note that I used GIMP to do the perspective transform because Inkscape's built-in tool for 3d transforming is beyond my understanding.
If I were better at 3D geometry I'm sure I'd love it, but I'm not and so I don't.

Inkscape is an amazing open-soruce SVG design tool or alternative to Illustrator.
I've known professional design firms who have enterprise Adobe subscriptions, and yet they use Inkscape to do certain things.

And GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Tool) is an amazing raster-editor alternative to Photoshop.

There's also Krita which is focused specifically on digital painting.

And Darktable is an excellent alternative to Adobe Lightroom for photographers who want to develop/process RAW images.
