Graphics Become Distractions Because I Have OCD About Them.

Working on a video, and if I'm doing a voice-over about something like a brand or a software I usually need images to animate/composite so there's something to 'SEE' rather than just hear.
Show, don't tell;
from film school or something.

In this case I'm looking for a Qualcomm Adreno logo.
When I do a Google search for an image, and I see Wikipedia I'm always glad because that usually means it's an SVG image rather than a JPEG or a PNG.
But in this case...it's a JPEG.

Qualcomm is the company that makes the very popular Snapdragon system-on-chips that could be in the phone you're seeing this on.
The SoC is an entire computer on a single chip. It includes an ARM CPU, wifi-controller, memory controller, and even a graphics processor unit or GPU.
That GPU is an Adreno which was originally ATI Mobile Graphics, and then AMD Adreno; before being sold off to Qualcomm when AMD was going broke.

The video is actually about the Age ID laws that are sweeping the world right now, and are popping up in many US states and federally.
But also, the lockdown of Android.
I touched on this recently in my post on Peakd/Hive called "Hieroglyphs | Freedom & Priacy"

I'm kind of OCD about this, and at the very least I'm hoping for a PNG because those have an alpha channel. Meaning transparency so they fit/look nice when editing them into a video.

So it ends up like this:

When What I really want is this:

Locked-Up-2997-f040550.png

But in order to get the one I want I had to make it myself using Inkscape.
And so begins what takes about an hour or so to recreate a corporate trademark logo. I do this too often, and it's probably a huge waste of time.
But in the end I have a shiny SCALABLE VECTOR GRAPHIC that is unavailable anywhere publicly online as far as I can tell.
I've considered uploading it to Wikipedia, but I don't know the legality of that.

The logo itself is a damn-near perfect recreation.

Here it is exploded into it's parts:
I cheated on the fonts. The Adreno is some sort of Century-Gothic, and I ended up using Futura LT Bold Codensed. And then I shaved the the "d" down and tweaked the "e" slightly to match.
Also on the JPEG Qualcomm is written in something similar, but I used their actual brand typeface instead.

I wasted over and hour doing this, for something that will appear for a few seconds in my actual video.
It won't matter to anyone, but it matters to me.
Oh and then I wasted another half hour writing this blog post hahahaha.
