Dress Up a Bug: Mayfly Metamorphosis

The Inspiration
This whole contest is such a cool ripple effect it was inspired by Hive account@artofkylin’s epic month-long bug collection. Allyson19 saw those buggy designs and thought that we gave them a fashion makeover and honestly, I couldn't resist

From I'm Lost" to "I'm the Boss
For my entry, I chose this super cute but slightly overwhelmed Mayfly. In the original drawing by @artofkylin, our little friend looked a bit dazed and confused, literally saying "I'm lost" while peering out from a purple flower. I chose this because the body of the bug is covered by the flower I think that is such a nice challenge to create using my imagination.

Today? The Mayfly has arrived.

Design Details & Backstory
I wanted to give this Mayfly the ultimate night out on the town look Check out the details:

The Fit: She’s rocking a stunning purple cocktail dress with a ruffled collar that is giving that main character energy.

The Accessories: I swapped the confusion for a sophisticated rose' drink in a tiny glass. And can we talk about those brown high heeled boots. Absolute icons for someone with slender legs

The Vibe: I kept those iconic, massive yellow eyes but gave them a much more confident look like it says I know what I am doing

The Backstory: After being lost in that purple flower for way too long, she decided she was done with the wilderness. She traded the petals for a cocktail party and realized that life is way too short especially for a mayfly to not look fabulous.
