Once a commando, always a commando

Hey hivers it has been a while I made a post in this space. Before I go on I wish everyone a happy and prosperous new month
August seems like a month where clarity about purpose comes, so yeah let's all be grateful, hopeful and cheerful.
So guys something quite interesting happened last week.. I received a phone call from someone who needed a music band to perform at the graduation ceremony and valedictory service of a certain.. oh well we bargained and I stated the requirements for having my team come perform at such event but guess what? The said school was my high school 😀☺️ I didn't give it much thought at first but I had this feeling..
So on the day of the event I did my usual routine, prepared for the day's job and headed out with my team to the venue.
The name of the school is COMMAND DAY SECONDARY SCHOOL (CDSS) it's owned by the Nigerian army hence the name in my title "commando".
During the course of the event I met so many familiar faces,teachers and soldiers and yeah I had this nostalgic feeling throughout the event. This special event was graced by the presence of Nigerian Army school of Music
oh it was really nice hearing their tunes and melodies.
They were so many dignitaries and senior military officers present

Whilst the valedictory service was going on students representing the Yoruba tribe entertained everyone with a dance performance showcasing the Yoruba cultural dance.

While my team and I played afro hippop and also played for the present students choir. Sometimes a decade ago I was an important member of the students choir and it just reveals how time goes by.

As someone that has passed through the same system myself i congratulated the graduates because i understand the weight of responsibility and discipline it takes to successfully leave CDSS.
Now they are out of highschool and life will take them to various parts, I wished them well and also encouraged to be courageous and never stop learning. One of the highlights of the event for me was they sang the school anthem, it brought back so many memories which I will always cherish "oh hail command day secondary school"

So guys it's quite interesting right?
What a day at the office for me lol..
