Session IPA, a new beer for my palate

A few days ago I took the time to go to a friend's liquor store. He had brought a craft beer producer to town with his cans, and I wanted to try some.
This is the first time I've heard of this artisanal producer; I don't know where it's from because I didn't bother to read it on the can, but the striking color and design caught my attention.

My friend recommended I leave it in the refrigerator for a while until it was quite cold, and that's what I did. While all that was happening, I cooked something to share with my daughter so we could both sit together at the table eating and each having our own drink.

Time to give my opinion on the beer: I was hoping it would be a fairly pleasant beer with a good flavor and aroma, but that wasn't the case. I found it to be very carbonated, which gave a burning sensation in my throat, similar to drinking carbonated wine. After the carbonation subsided, I could perceive some flavor, which was quite disappointing.

I don't like to make harsh criticisms of drinks because each producer has a different approach to what they do, but in this case it's not to offend the beer itself, but rather that the carbonation was excessive and prevented me from enjoying the flavor.
