Paradox Drive New Pokemon TCG Pocket Set

Paradox Drive B3a set is out now in Pokemon TCG Pocket mobile game.

We have Ancient & Future cards in the mobile game. The two featured cards are Koraidon ex and Miraidon ex.

Ancient Cards

Here are the Ancient cards in this set. Some were covered earlier while some are new.

From these Ancient Pokemon above, I think Great Tusk and Koraidon ex is a good duo. The otehr Ancient attackers are kind of bad.

Two Fighting Energy from Great Tusk for 80 damage is good. Twenty damage to each of your Benched Pokemon is not that bad of a drawback. Then come in with Koraidon ex.

Raging Bolt from the above is the most dangerous attacker with its one hit knockout attack. Save the one hit knockout attack on a strong attacker like a Mega Pokemon ex. The energy requirements are high though.

Future Cards

Like with the Ancient cards, some Future cards were covered in an earlier post while some are new.

What stands out from the Future Pokemon above are Miraidon ex and Iron Valiant.

Iron Valiant's ability reduces the cost of Future Pokemon attacks by 1 Colourless Energy.

Miraidon ex's attack does more damage if there are more Lightning Energy on it. Legendary Drive can be used once during your turn when this is Benched from your Hand. Then you may switch Miraidon ex into the Active Spot and move Energy from your Benched Pokemon to Miraidon ex.

Iron Moth's attack can be big if you get coin flip lucky.

Out of these six, I think Iron Crown is a good attacker. For two Colourless Energy, the Enumerating Blade attack does 10 base damage plus 20 more damage for each of your opponent's Benched Pokemon. As there is a maximum of 3 Benched Pokemon, this attack's maximum is 70 damage. Add the Future Booster Energy Capsule Tool to Iron Crown to add 20 more damage.

Other Notable Cards

Espeon & Umbreon

This set does include some Eeveelutions.

Espeon's Hypnoblast for 1 Psychic Energy is not bad. You deal 40 damage and put the opponent's Active Pokemon to Sleep.

Umbreon's Confuse Ray requires 1 Dark Energy and one Colourless Energy for the attack. The attack deals 50 damage plus Confusion. It seems slightly weaker than Espeon's attack but still annoying for the opponent.

Glimmet & Glimmora

Glimmet is an okay attacker in the early game. The artist for this card did include Pikachu for whatever reason.

Glimmora is the Stage 1 evolution of Glimmet. The Venomous Hit attack is simple. One Dark Energy for 30 damage plus Poison. The Shattering Crystal ability activates when this Glimmora is Knocked Out. Flip a coin and if it is Heads, the opponent does not get any points for the Knockout.

Terapagos ex

Terapagos ex is a bulky Basic Pokemon ex. This has 150 HP, a two retreat cost and one attack. Prism Impact for any 3 Energy does 80 base damage plus 20 more damage for each type of Energy attached to this.

Juliana and Area Zero Stadium

Juliana is a niche Supporter cards that puts a random Stage 2 Pokemon from deck into your hand. If you play duplicate copies of a Stage 2 Pokemon, this random search is not random as you get the Stage 2 Pokemon you want.

Area Zero stadium can be used once during each player's turn. Shuffle a Basic Pokemon from their hand into their hand. Then you draw one card. My problem with this Stadium is that you can redraw the same Basic Pokemon you put in the deck.
