New Eevee Pokemon Card [July/August 2024]

Hi there. In this short post I would like to feature a new Eevee card from a clairified and confirmed translation according to Pokebeach.com. It is another Eevee card but this one is pretty playable with a powerful ability.

New Eevee Card

This Eevee is a Promo card from some unknown set at the time of writing (late July 2024). It is a Basic 50 HP colourless Pokemon with an ability and one attack. The attack of Reckless Charge costs two Colourless Energy and does 30 damage with 10 damage to itself. The energy cost on the attack is expensive.

What makes this Eevee good is the ability. Eevee's Driven Evolution ability can only be used if the Eevee is in the Active Spot. This Eevee can be evolved during your first turn or on the same turn that it was put into play. This ability is kind of broken. In the Pokemon TCG game you cannot evolve if you go first or second on your first turn. Also, you cannot evolve a Basic Pokemon on the same turn that you put into play. Eevee's Driven Evolution ability bypasses the waiting period and you can evolve on the same turn.

There are a few cards that are similar to this Eevee but the attackers are not great. These are Spearow, Scatterbug, Spewpa and Pidove with an unreleased Unfezant ex.

Combining this Eevee with the upcoming Sylveon ex makes Sylveon ex and its decks really good. More details on possible gameplay combos in the next section.

With this new Eevee card you can evolve it into any Eeveelution (Eevee Evolution) card you like as long as this Eevee is in the Active spot. Here are the choices from the F, G, H regulation format.

The best and obvious choice for Eevee Evolution is Sylveon ex. With the Eevee ability you do not have to wait a turn to evolve from Eevee to Sylveon ex as long as you have Sylveon ex in your hand.

I think you can combo the Drive Evolution Eevee with this Eevee below from Astral Radiant with the Resonant Evolution ability. Evolve one Eevee and then use Resonant Evolution to search your deck for a card the evolves from the second Eevee and evolve it. A powerful evolution combo.

The other Eevee evolutions are okay if you are planning to make an Eevee themed deck without Sylveon ex with Reversal Energy in mind. Not sure how that kind of deck plays out.
