Benchy race Ender 3 V Bambu Labs X2D

SO Hive 3D Folks When I posted about getting a Bambu Labs X2D the other day I
said the Benchy test was much faster than my Creality Ender 3. Well I didn’t realise how much quicker the X2D is. So I decided to have a Benchy race.

Starting both printers from cold the Ender 3 took the early lead and started printing in 3minutes 30 while the X2D was still doing it’s shaky shaky dance setup yes it still wobbles a bit on the side rubber feet but at least the new bench isn’t moving, 5 1/2 minutes in and the X2D finally freed moving.

At 10 minutes the Ender is falling behind with only a few layers completed and the X2D is forging ahead with about 40% done.

and there is a built in camera that gives you a live feed of the print on the Bambu Labs app so you can keep an eye on prints remotely and stop them if there is an issue.

20 minutes in and the Ender 3 is struggled to keep up with the X2D racing to the finish line which it crosses in 23 minutes.

Slow and steady doesn’t win the race of 3D printing the Ender 3 is still plodding along and finally finishes at 1 hour and 57 minutes.

Quality wise both prints are excellent so no complaints there but I can see the Ender being relegated to longer prints that can run overnight when I’m not in a hurry.

So there You have it the X2D is about 5 times faster basic printing than the Creality Ender 3. It’s much faster than I was expecting so much so it got me thinking about the Bambu Labs H2C with the much bigger bed for larger prints but that is going to be a much bigger investment.
