Symmetry Sketch: A Nostalgic Study
A study of movement like every strand of hair using a very fine worn tip brush, acrylic paint on a scrap of white paper. This was done many years ago back when I can no longer remember. Before I throw it, there is something that I realized. Earlier on during those days I could tell I have this growing interest with symmetry. Look at how I tried balancing the stylized eyes their distance and their form. Same goes with the brows which I admit very difficult to draw. There is no undo button back then as this is done on real paper I imagine how careful and how I hold my breath on every stroke of the brush. It is an achievement. There is nothing about the theme here I just remember wanting to draw something boxy or squarish that explains the wide face and jaws and that pointy chin and nose to match. The flowing hair balanced everything giving the otherwise sharp and angular face some smoothness and fluidity. I wish I still have that patience and focus
