Wood [ENG-ESP]

The other day, a teacher showed us this piece of wood. She told us she carved it herself a couple of years ago and that it took her quite a while to do it because the wood was pretty hard and thick. Even so, the whole class really liked it because the design turned out flawless. We don’t have to do any carving, but we do have to design a wooden stool, and well, we literally spent two and a half hours talking about the different types of wood and the uses of each one. It was interesting because I don’t think these are things everyone just happens to think about on their own, and it really makes a lot of sense that each type of wood is suited for a different project—since that’s the case with every project—we always choose materials based on the goal we’re aiming for.

En estos días una profesora nos mostró este pedazo de madera, nos dijo que ella misma la tallo hace un par de años y que le costó bastante hacerlo pues la madera era bastante dura y espesa, aún así a toda la clase le gustó bastante ya que le quedó un diseño bastante impecable, nosotros no tenemos que hacer ningún tallado pero si un diseño de un taburete de madera, y bueno, literalmente no pasamos dos horas y media hablando sobre los diferentes tipos de madera y los usos de cada una, fue interesante ya que no creo que sean cosas que todo el mundo se ponga a pensar solo porque si, y realmente tiene mucho sentido que cada tipo de madera sea para un proyecto distinto ya que ese es el caso de cada proyecto, siempre se miden los materialessegún el objetivo que buscamos.
