Renewing my poetic license:

Some days it seems we're in a golden age,
Others we've hit the peak of blind outrage,
Sometimes we're each bit players gracing the communal stage,
To discover the next we are prisoners locked in a mental cage.

Confusion,
Emotion,
Manipulation,
Reach all time highs.

Markets too,

Yet the cost of these fries
Reveal a nugget of truth
To those with discerning eyes.

The lunch I munch costs more yet I eat less?
A paradox of hunger and stress,

"less is more"

Of course, no wonder!

(Should I add the /s ?)

It's easy to misunderstand, there's no plot or evil plan.

Just incompetence,

Just confusion,

Just emotion,

Just manipulation.

But that's what this is too, emotion and manipulation from me to you.

Communication IS manipulation, everything is spun.

So we get good news but nothing really changes for the better, and bad news that's never truly disastrous,

There are no shadowy masters,

No puppeteers,

Just people,

Not good,

Not evil...

Probably.
