Written a Neo smart contract worth it?
Can a single developer like me write and deploy a neo smart contract?
Yes, you can if you have $30,953 at least.
Yes, that's right. It cost you 490 GAS to deploy a smart contract to NEO Blockchain with current pricing at $63.17 for each GAS.
On the top of this, if you want to use any of the system code like RunTime. CheckWitness you pay extra fee of 1 + 0.2 GAS. This http://docs.neo.org/en-us/sc/systemfees.html will give more info on Fees.
After finding this in building my first NEO smart contract, I ended up losing interest as I know that I never can deploy my smart contract to BlockChain.
So the bottom line is, this is only for big organisations
I can achieve the same for less than $50 with a normal centralised database environment. Isn't the whole point of this block chain is to be more affordable and distributed? Are we even going in right direction?
Let me know your thoughts.
