V-Man 2009, Drawing step by step /Rising Star

After the frame, I moved on to sketching the guitar. As usual with my guitar drawings, I started by drawing the neck. The neck is the longest and thinnest part of the instrument. If you didn't know, it's used to hold the guitar and play the strings stretched over it. After that, I drew the guitar's body, which has a wavy shape; I always say it's shaped like a waist.

The guitar is almost finished, but you probably know it was missing an important part: the area that contains the tuning pegs, the fin-shaped part. This part is used to tighten the strings and tune the notes; it serves both purposes. Also, depending on its shape, it can greatly enhance the overall appearance of the guitar.

Now that the sketch is finished, I can start painting. I painted the guitar sky blue. The neck is gray, and the tuning pegs are wood-colored. If you look closely, the blue on the guitar isn't flush with the edge; there's a small gap. That's because I'm imitating the effect of the original card, which has a white border.

After it was painted, I added several details. If you look closely, this is where I made the string tensioners in the center and the decorative elements. I also made the knobs for adjusting the electric guitar. I think it turned out nice.
