Texas Chainsaw Massacre Review | I Had Dreadful Dreams At Night After Watching This Movie

Just yesterday, lying on my bed, I was scrolling through Netflix. So a recommendation comes to me - "Texas Chainsaw Massacre." I don't know why it felt like it would be a good idea to watch this movie. Before saying anything further, let me give you this note I am terrified to watch horror movies or movies in which there is much bloodshed inside, and I do not feel like watching such movies.

Now, this is just a one-and-a-half-hour movie, let me tell you that there is no ghost present inside this movie, but still, I cannot express how much I have suffered while watching this movie. The tension was being built throughout this movie, that any time a character can die, can die from anywhere, at any point, will not survive, no one is safe. All this makes your heartbeat pump so hard. And the terror I was feeling, it seemed that I would stop the movie now, that's all, I do not want to watch. But still, I managed it till the end somehow. Kudos to me.

What I am telling in this review is my own opinion; your opinion may be different. Now, look here, first of all, before watching this movie, I did not know anything about it like I had zero ideas. Look, when I saw it on the trending tab of Netflix, I just watched it. But after watching this movie in its entirety, when I searched a bit of it on google, I realized that this movie has an entire franchise. Like seriously, the film that I watched yesterday is the ninth part of this franchise. So that's why I am a bit new to this franchise; I can't compare it to its previous parts. I will only talk about the movie which I saw yesterday.

Now you guys must be thinking here whether you must watch the first eight parts to watch this movie or not. I'm sure this movie must have given some reference to its old parts. Also, This movie might have taken one or two characters from the old movie, but honestly, the way this movie treats its characters, even if you don't watch the old ones, it will work XD. If you have only one and a half hours, you can also watch this movie exactly as I watched it.

Because of that, one thing that worked in my favor was that I had no idea what was going to happen next because, as I told you, I had not watched its last parts. The name of this movie gives a slight idea - “Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” which means that many people will be killed with a Chainsaw by someone inside Texas. But in actuality, before we reach that part, we are slowly hauled there, from the very beginning. And the tension that was being built throughout the movie is hefty. I was so tense that a character would die at any moment of the movie; now he will die; his death is about to come, I do not have any idea. Only this one-and-a-half-hour movie made my condition worse.

Now here I know that if you have seen this franchise before, your opinion may be that this movie was worthless or some previous part of it was good. Still, I cannot say anything about that because I am not interested in watching its older movies; seeing this one filled my heart.
While watching this, I felt frightened, but still, I would like to address some drawbacks of the movie - like, because it is only one and a half hours long, so I did not see any such full character inside it that I can connect with. There are one or two characters about whom some information will be provided to you so that you care a little about them. Apart from that, everyone else must die.

Character development, a complex narrative, full of dialogues, emotional scenes are not seen much inside this movie, but in my opinion, all these were not needed much inside this movie. I have already told you that you come, see how one person kills 50 people, watch the whole movie in suspense and enjoy it if you enjoy it. And if you want to watch this movie in dread like me, you can do it as well.

But the two things that work in favor of this movie are:

First of all, the way the bloodshed inside this movie has been shown, my soul is stunned just after seeing it. A man with a chainsaw is cutting people off, this scene is still fine, but in some scenes, like hitting the leg of the man with a hammer and breaking his leg, that scene was not seen at all by me. Seriously, I was like, no brother, I do not want to see anymore.

And the other thing that works in favor of this movie is how the suspense is built up throughout the movie. You know that a person will die, but when and where he will get stabbed is unknown.

But a slightly classic trope shown inside all horror movies is also present inside this movie as the characters inside this movie do not have a very sharp mind. I don't know where everyone's attention is. A chainsaw man is killing the person in front, so why would you go to a close quarter to fight him. You have a gun; you can shoot him at long range, but no. If that person is hiding in the house, you will kill him by entering that house. You will get to see such logical points well inside the movie. As I said, there was no need for any complex story inside this movie. It is a brutal movie. If you want to see horrendous bloodshed, you can watch this movie.
