Forestfires are a PITA :)

So finished off a tour up in north-west Sweden where a lightning strike or two set fire to one of the army artillery ranges.

The struck out area was the fire right then, so a plan to meet it was devised.

And violá a defense plan :)

There is quite a bit of forest up here and after the extremely hot summer it was primed for a rather explosive fire, and dear lord didn't it explode...

Now there was just tons and tons of manhours of work by hundreds of fire service, army and an absolute heap of volunteers left.

With everything from helicopters, planes to tracked infantry vehicles;

With some mishaps and equipment failures;

But finaly we put the darn thing out...

It's amazing what people can do together :)
