Light as a feather
Good day, so I can finally start writing posts again.
I haven't been around for a long time, but I have a new hobby- another one to add to the list!
About 6-7 months ago, I became seriously interested in working with leather. Since then, I've watched thousands of videos, read everything I could find, and experimented a lot.
Then I started collecting some basic tools and little by little I started.
At first, I made jewellery, which I'm familiar with, but I also made a few wallets. My work is still based on improvisation, but that's how I work with other techniques. Not only do I want to, but I also have to because it's hard to get materials where I live. Many online stores don't ship or shipping is more expensive than the item.
Today, I decided to make a simple leather necklace. You don't need many tools, just a bit of imagination.
*First I took a piece of paper and drew a feather. Then I cut it out and used an awl to make the outlines on a piece of leather.
I scratched lines going from the middle to the edges.
Since I don't have any leather paint, I painted it with regular acrylic paints.
8Then I let it dry and applied a leather balm.
I have a hand tool for setting metal eyelets.
I burnished the edges and back with a wooden tool.
I made a slightly deeper groove in the middle so I could glue the leather cord in.
I glued the cord, added a few beads that I once made from polymer clay....
That's it! I hope you like it.

Some people use words, others use light to say what they feel.
Here are a few more things I made earlier.
