A day trip to Bucharest: impressions and interesting facts

Recently I managed to escape for a day to Bucharest - a city that combines the energetic rhythm of the capital and cozy corners of old Europe. The atmosphere here is special: majestic buildings, Unirii Boulevard overlooking the colossal Palace of Parliament and the lively streets of the Old Town, where history meets modernity.

Romania turned out to be much more interesting than I expected. Here are a few curious facts:

- The second largest administrative building in the world.

The Palace of Parliament in Bucharest is second only to the Pentagon in size. It's so heavy that it sags a few millimeters every year.

- Home of Dracula. 

Count Vlad Tepes, who served as the prototype of the famous vampire, was the prince of Wallachia. His real castle is not in Transylvania, but in the fortress of Poenari.

- One of the most beautiful bookstores in the world. 

In the very center of the city you can look into Carturesti Carusel, a store resembling a fairy-tale palace.

The day in Bucharest flew by unnoticed, but left bright emotions. The city surprises, inspires and definitely deserves a longer acquaintance!
