I tried so hard. (Daily struggles 😤)

Now first let me explain that I'm just a black man...and I come from the dark side so I'm having a hard time, staying on track man!!!

Hello, and welcome. This post is about the struggles of a humble black man living in LA. Trying to keep his head above water, trying to make a name for himself, and on many occasions, just trying to stay alive!

There are many communities in the LA area, African, Jewish, Armenian, Filipino, Korean, Hispanic, etc. But none so disconnected as the African-AMERICAN community in my opinion. Many of the African-Americans in LA typically live predominantly somewhere in the mid-city areas, and then are somewhat dispersed through the region from there on. Some of the areas which tend to lack an African-American populace are, Glendale/Los Feliz, Burbank, Beverly Hills/Brentwood, and Hollywood Hills. Notice how many of the rich, upscale areas in LA are practically devoid of any people of color? This is a dichotomy of the slim diversity amongst more affluent regions, as opposed to the areas that absolutely nobody wants to move to...like the Crenshaw district.

Now, as I said, there are many African-Americans dispersed across LA, and the more middle-class ones will tend to settle in areas such as Northridge, Northhollywood, Downtown LA, And some may even reside in parts of Santa Monica or Malibu. However, one thing that African-Americans tend to do when they come out here is look for the cheapest place possible, REGARDLESS of its location!!! That means you have black and Hispanic families moving way out on the outskirts and out of the Los Angeles region in areas such as San Bernardino/Riverside, Lancaster/Palmdale, and Long Beach/Lakewood.

While the latter of those locations aren't so bad, the simple fact of the matter is that this community is simply divided out here. And unfortunately, it is not just in LA, but all across America African-Americans are divided, making it incredibly difficult to be one in America. See, it's not the general predijuice that is making it outright unfortunate to be black in America, it is the disconnected community, which never takes the time to build itself up like Asian and Hispanic communities do. It's every African-American for himself out here, and we have no unity, and it's just unfair for future generations to be so disadvantaged in that sense, when people of other races stand as one for the most part...

going to the African-American history museum soon...hopefully I'll be able to learn more about our history, and see what exactly it is that is causing this society to face so much turmoil..? 🤷🏽‍♂️
