Got Thyroid Issues?
Our GUT totally affects the way our THYROID functions!!!
We are in a hypothyroid epidemic, but it is never just about the thyroid. In order to have healthy thyroid function, you have to be able to convert inactive T4 hormone into active T3 hormone.
* 20% of this conversion occurs in the intestines.
* 60% of this conversion occurs in the liver.
* In order to have a healthy thyroid, gut health and liver health need to be optimized.
Also, if you have Hashimotos, it is never just about the thyroid...it is ALL about the immune system.
Regarding T4 to T3 conversion-- If you have dysbiosis, infections, yeast overgrowth, parasites in your gut, it is highly likely that this will affect the thyroid because it will hamper your ability to make T3 and T3 and is where the magic happens.
