MCGI TOPIC REVIEW - Is It Biblical For Christians To Pay Tithes?

We have a strong reminder that challenges the modern doctrine of composite tithing. Brother Eli separates that teaching of the gospel from the old testament system of we having an obligation under the Levitical priesthood.

Why we grant this argument in Hebrews 7?
This shows that tithes were not a general Christianity, but they are legal and command tithes to a specific priesthood, a specific people and that specific covenant. This point is hard to ignore.

When the priesthood changed, the law changed with it. If Christ is now our internal high priest, then what do we talk about the Levitical system? Including enforced tithes cannot be just carried over. The gospel is sustained by that compulsion.

The gospel is not sustained by that compulsion, but by that willing service, love and forgiveness. What I would like to say now about this teaching? This teaching exposes a very important truth that many churches demand old testament obligations while claiming that that of the New Testament is graceful.

Brother Eli reminds us that saying it is not that system of payment, but it is of faith, generosity and having conscience. Whether we agree or not, this is the biblical reason that is clear. And first and foremost is the examination of why we give and which authority are we under.
