Happy New Year & A Catch Up With A Friend

Last night I got out of my first photoshoot of 2026, my friend Hive account@fastchrisuk messaged me and asked if I wanted to go on a night shoot, through the day the weather was looking a bit dodgy but it soon got clearer for the night, although a thin veil of high altitude clouds made an appearance, you could still see the stars.

We headed to a monument not far from me called Hoober Stand, one of 4 monuments around the Wentworth Estate in South Yorkshire, England. This monument was built between 1746-1748 to commemorate the quashing of the Jackobite rebellion in 1745.

And it was cold...

I forgot my gloves and I had numb fingers while shooting these shots, although thoroughly enjoyed, it was great to experiment with compositions and even lighting, I think we nailed the shots.
The moon was a 90% full moon and was lighting the way for us, even when we turned out head torches off we could see where we were walking, apart from when I tripped over a log that I forgot that it was behind me lol.

But that wind cut through you, it was really cold...

I did really enjoy it last night, especially catching up with Chris, hoping to get out for some more shoots in the year, work and weather depending, but for the first shoot of the year, I'm rather pleased with these shots.
