Les presento mi colección de sellos.
I present to you my stamp collection.
En realidad, está en mi casa desde que era pequeña y mi mamá solo recuerda que era de mi abuelo, pero no si realmente la hizo él. Suponemos que si pues era un tipo con mucho talento y le encantaba el arte. Cuando apenas tenía nueve años decidí sacar todos sellos de la caja en donde permanecían guardados y organizarlos por orden cronológico. Había un libro catálogo para esto y fue muy fácil para mí.
Actually, it's been in my house since I was little and my mom only remembers that it was my grandfather's, but not if he actually made it. We suppose he did because he was a very talented guy and he loved art. When I was just nine years old I decided to take all the stamps out of the box where they were kept and organize them in chronological order. There was a catalog book for this and it was very easy for me.

Mi mamá lo conservaba muy bien pero no se había tomado tal trabajo y cuando mostré interés rápidamente me dejó tratarlos, aunque con unas cuantas advertencias sobre su cuidado. Yo era muy detallista y no tuve problemas con ese tipo de cosas. Solo me da mucha ternura ver mi letra de aquel entonces en los pequeños papelitos recortados que indican los años en los que fueron emitidos.
My mom kept them very well but had not gone to such trouble and when I showed interest she quickly let me treat them, albeit with a few caveats about their care. I was a stickler for detail and had no problem with that sort of thing. It just gives me a lot of tenderness to see my handwriting from back then on the little cut out slips of paper indicating the years they were issued.

Desde aquel entonces me encargo de cuidarlos en cada mudanza que hemos tenido. No les pierdo ni pie ni pisada y les confieso que muchas veces he hablado con mi madre del sueño de poder mostrárselos a mis nietos. Actualmente ya no se usa este tipo de correspondencia, porque las redes lo han suplantado todo, así que imagino que para mis nietos (si los tengo) será como una reliquia. Jajajaa
Since then I have taken care of them in every move we have had. I don't miss a step and I confess that many times I have talked to my mother about the dream of being able to show them to my grandchildren. Nowadays this type of correspondence is no longer used, because the networks have supplanted everything, so I imagine that for my grandchildren (if I have them) it will be like a relic. Jajajaa
Hay sellos desde 1914 de casi todos los años hasta 1981. Aunque faltan muchos ejemplares de cada año pienso que es bastante completa esta colección y quien la hizo merece que siga pasando de generación en generación. Lastimosamente todos han fallecido hace mucho y no se dejó información sobre ese dato.
Todavía tengo sobres de algunos repetidos que me gustaría compartir con alguien o donar a algún museo o algo así, debo buscar información sobre ello.
There are stamps from 1914 of almost every year up to 1981. Although many specimens of each year are missing, I think that this collection is quite complete and whoever made it deserves to continue passing it from generation to generation. Unfortunately they have all passed away long ago and no information was left behind.
I still have envelopes of some repeats that I would like to share with someone or donate to a museum or something like that, I must look for information about it.
