The Fun, Vibes and Madness of O.A.U Student Life

My brother and my sister greetings to all of una,If you never go Obafemi Awolowo University (O.A.U), I must talk say you dey miss o, That school no dey dull at all. Forget say na book dey worry us sometimes, O.A.U life full of vibes, enjoyment and memories wey no fit leave my head till now.

The sports events is always lit, Anytime O.A.U dey do sports festival, the whole campus go just dey hot like fire. Football matches Omo, na war be that one Faculties go dey drag like say World Cup dey happen for Ife. Athletics, basketball, volleyball, even table tennis dey carry their own crowd. Everybody dey rep their department with full ginger. And on top say me self I be football I always dey feel happy, great and proud of myself like when dey cheer us up with singing of all sports song, drumming and dancing. The pitch go full of crowd even those wey no love football go come watch.

Then we get S.U.G week. Cha That one na another level of enjoyment. From Monday reach Sunday, na back to back activities. Sometimes dem go invite special guest speakers wey go delivered better motivational talks for students. Other days, na concert, dance, debate, or drama. The campus go just dey bubble like say na carnival. I fit say na carnival cruise cos every where dey colourful DJs go dey every places under trees , resting and refreshment centre,n na every place in the school dey bubble.

My favorite memory na that school choir singing competition from the music department. Omo those people sabi sing die una voices go just dey sweet ear like honey, and people go dey clap anyhow. Some of us no even sabi sing but we go still shout from back like backup singers.

And person no fit forget about the rag day? That one na cruise of life, full of madness, Students go dress anyhow one go wear slippers for hand, another go put plate for head like cap. People go dey beg for money with steeze, but all na cruise I swear, if you no laugh that day, then you no be human being.

Then there’s the talent display show that events na where students show wetin dem sabi from dance to spoken word, comedy, even magic tricks. O.A.U students too get talent! And of course, the final year party. That one dey always make forget say then be student, then dey turn to party dancers. Last dance, last groove before serious adulting go catch everybody.

To be honest, O.A.U no dey boring at all at all oo. My school days full of laughter, events, noise, and gist wey I no fit forget. Anytime I remember am, I just dey smile. Na real sweet memories.
