Preparing for the finale
After my medical episode, the follow up lifestyle adjustment has been quite a chore. The beginning of the recovery journey was quite ok, until the workplace superior decided they had enough of me being doing the laid back job, and now I'm assigned to go back out and visit client on a daily basis. Naturally, I don't have the luxury to get off from office to attend my daily recovery exercises.
Food wise can be very challenging as well. I am trying to limit my breakfast to simple comfort food. For a brief few weeks, I was still able to bring my own food container and meal prep for my lunch, but now it's even more challenging with the tight schedule. So, I am repeating my breakfast to vermicelli and hard boiled egg with sugarless milk tea. Not the most ideal, but this has all the energy and just enough protein for the morning, provided I got a discount since I'm a long term customer. All these for RM5($1.25 roughly).
We have recently discovered a new place to do Bak Kut Teh. This is a very traditional Malaysian Chinese dish from the hokkien descendant. Bak means meat, kut means bones, Teh is tea. Whilst it named Tea, it has nothing to do with tea. It's just the way how the Chinese brew their meat base herbal soup. It's the same concept of cinese herbal tea has no tea.
The supermarket recently having a promotion with their wagyu beef patty, going with buy 1 free 1. I will have to conduct full investigation with the staff, and also verify it with the barcode scanner, just to make sure it's a real deal. Otherwise, I will be embarrassing myself during check out if I can't afford to pay all 🤣
In many traditional family, bread is the main breakfast dish. So is my entire childhood. My brain was imprinted with how my grandma feed my dad with bread shaves(the toasted sides usually got cut off and sold very cheap by the kilos) that dunk in black coffee. Everytime when I have a chance to take toast bread, I would take it.
And thus shop totally gets the idea of coffee dunking practice 🤣 but they go with Dunkin biscuit. This kind of practice is highly addictive, so becareful if you decided to try it. I will be worry if you raise your cholesterol to the next level. Mind you biscuit are fried stuff, it's not any better than donuts.
I'm still taking my weekend morning to do my walk. At this stage, I gave already began to jog a little. I don't do the full "run" action as my collaboration is still very weak. If I run, meaning to say when I have "air time", it is highly likely I will start to sway to the left, or worst risk falling. So, I'm doing a little more than brisk walking, but still maintain 1 foot in contact with the ground anytime.
Blood pressure over the weekend can be very... I repeat, very healthy. With this kind of "diagnostic" result, I am pretty sure my health issues are mainly caused by my work related pressure. Can I quit my job? At the moment, not yet. I will face even more pressure if I don't have a job, or if I'm down for a job that getting paid less than I have now.
I used to do KFC almost everyday. If any of you remember, I started my journey in ASEAN Hive, as a self proclaimed KFC ambassador 🤣 now, with my current health status, I tried to avoid as much as possible. Even if I still do, the tastiest stuff - chicken skin, will fall victim to the home minister.
This was totally unrelated, but I did took a photo of that BMW ass. I admit, for a moment I do have the feeling of envy towards this BMW, but then thinking of my job security and my future, I will just say let's keep it strictly good for the eyes only but that's all.
This was after church, dinner expedition with the family. I brought the family to the same Bak Kut Teh place, but they don't do dinner promotion. Since the kids aren't really a big fan of traditional food, and they don't like the herbal smell anyways, so the 4 of us share these dishes and call it a day.
I already knew I may not be able to do well with my health assessment coming week, despite my reading over the weekend looks perfectly normal. But, I decided to give my best to it in terms of workout and recovery exercises. I am seriously considering to include a walker machine in my tiny apartment, with the consideration of whether can I obtain an approval from the home minister(wife).
