A second life for didas

I've been a didas man for quite some time now. If you ask me, I can still recall back all of my purchases from many many years ago.

I used to spent big bucks on the other brands, especially the one with a big cat logo that has always been lightweight. At ttimes I also spent a fortune on another brand with a big ✓ sign where their balloon inside the sole that cushions every impact does make a lot of comfort for the ankle and knees.

However, all of that changed because of one time, I went to an outlet closure sale. Triple stripes was never my first choice, but there's this pair of beautiful blue color shoe with white stripes by the sides actually caught my eyes, especially at a discounted price. I test fitted and instantly fell in love. For the first time I experience the foam base that is so lightweight, so soft, and it bounces right back up after every impact, as if I have added a very efficient damper and springs under my foot.

Since then, my didas usually last me a years and a half, considering I abuse used them regularly. Over the past 8 years, this is my 4th pair of didas. I've got this pair in last year's November before I decommissioned the previous pair. By this year January, I've started to switching shoes between the old and new shoes so I am adjusting the shoe laces. I knew I'm not supposed|d to, but I like to use these running shoes as a slip on, so I will usually spend time in adjusting the shoe laces to a point that they strap my feet on just enough to walk and light run, yet easy to take off and slip on. By March I had a medical condition, and after that my "new" didas took an instant hit since I'm required to do extensive amount of physiotherapy. There was a time I would walk 14km a day. If I can have 2 sessions, it will be 10km in the morning and 10km in the evening.

It took less than 2 weeks, I am almost 80% recovered from my sickness, but ofcourse it took a toll on my pair of didas. The outter sole was the first to gave up. I've been trying to look for a cobbler around my work area that is convenient enough for me, for ehe sole replacement. This has been dragged for months, and finally I took the trouble to ordered a roll of rubber sole online and decided to DIY.

Unfortunately, I have underestimated my shoe size and the purchased sole didn't fully match with my shoe. Nevertheless, I have took some genius decision to use some of the leftovers to patch the sides that was originally left uncovered 🤣

I hope this helps to extend the didas life a little, hopefully at least a full year service before I spend another big buck in obtaining another pair of a didas.
