The eagle has landed......
Located in the Persian Gulf between Qatar and Iran, we had an unscheduled visitor to the installation.
A Greater Spotted Eagle dropped by to say hello. It had no marking rings on its legs, and appeared to be at home with the crew. After being given some food and water and allowed to rest, the bird eventually departed again a few hours later.
An interesting stop over, and as you can see from the pictures, it was quite at home on the arm of Alvin, one of the operators, which is surprising for a wild bird.
