How I Built Gitora for Version Control users
I love version control and I use GitHub for most of my projects. Few years back when I was storing my open source I used bitbucket too. However my exposure to gitlab and gittea is a bit limited. But that didn't stop my usage of the GitHub.
So I always wanted to build my own version of the git app where the services like GitHub, SVN and other online services become easily accessible under single app.
But getting it done in one shot was not easy. So I decided to break this into multiple parts. And each part would get my app done. And this could make it easier for me to work with the version control reading and also to view it and maybe edit the same with the platform auth.
I decided to use the Cursor and initially I made few prototypes which failed. Then I decided to make use of the PRD and prompt approach to build a right project. This made it easier for me to build an initial version which I plan on releasing on the Google Play store.
As of now in this prototype, I can make Github URLs and then make the repository readable in one shot in the app. And the way this can make it easier for me to read the repository.
Next update would help me to read gitlab, bitbucket, and few other repository websites platform. Which would make it easier for me to read the repository and turn this into more global or universal repository viewer.
Currently you have two options: use the personal access token and read only repository. And soon more options to use AUTH and then make use of them for checking the repositories and then making the repository read makes it easier too.
Just few more days left to end this month and also this app would be out and my Google Play account would be renewed as well. So this is the first app for the LLC based account. Hopefully I can find app which would make money soon.
