Some months earlier, I heard one such widespread news that the current manager of general electricity in our state was sacked. When sacking is involved it means it was something crucial. How has it gone on after that? Let's dive in
I didn't even know what was actually going on until two days ago if I am not mistaken. I have talked about the general electricity bouncing back within the half of this year after a disturbing year start. Before now, electricity outages were becoming normal and frustrating especially to small scale entrepreneurs.
At least big businesses know how to put it into their services quite easily. So was the case; expenses on fuel at high petrol prices wasn't also comfortable. Things took a U-turn, general electricity returned to at least 70% to 80% supply of what we had last year.
I am beginning to restrategize on how to leverage especially in this heavy industry. Of course the bill is coming at the end of the month. Talking of electricity bills, it was something I didn't really take note of; our state government just passed a new policy on estimated meter charges; every compound is paying the same fixed price. So the monthly light bill stands at 25K.
I can remember although we had a good supply of electricity last year, the billing was on the roof; expect from 60K and above and you begin to wonder how the compilation is done. Ok, we have to admit that humans are good at extortion and this is what has been playing out over those periods.
I am happy the government has stepped up in the sector to ease the current economic burden. Just as earlier said, at first, it seemed the high figures were reasonably calculated. If the government can step up in auditing, a lot of such inconveniences will be curbed.
I wasn't really giving much to the current prepaid meter billing. In short, they are currently issuing the meters out for free. I can remember some months back it was for sell and at a costly price. Maybe I should also go back to two years ago when my Dad needed one and the procedures was very tough coupled with the high price.
To conclude, let me add, we’ve just gotten relief in one area of monthly expenses. The most important part from what I am seeing here is that this policy stands the test of time. Adding to that, we have to look into how this will transform our state in the coming years. Investors are likely to come in with steady and affordable electricity.
