A Look at PeakD | Posts, Comments, Active Users and More | Aug 2026

Let’s take a look at PeakD! The project is around for a long time now and has been developing a lot of things on Hive. Some of them DHF funded. PEAKD has established itself as the most used frontend on the Hive blockchain. The team around it has been involved in the ecosystem for a long time and they have continuously built and updating it.
The team is also working on a Peak Open project that is funded from the DHF and have more tools for the ecosystem. There is now also a short form app Snaps.

Let’s take a look at some of the data.

Here we will take a look at the activity on the platform, the overall number of posts and comments, and the number of users. The top content creators for the last 30 days will be presented as well.

The period that we will be looking at is from April 2020 through August 3, 2026.

Posts

First let us see the number of posts coming from the PeakD.

Here is the chart.

Some ups and downs here. At the beginning in 2020 there were around 1,200 posts per day, then this number increased to around 1,600 in the bull market in 2021-2022, followed by a slow drop to around 600 posts in 2024.

At the end of 2024 there was an increase to around 800 posts per day, but the decline resumed through 2025 and the first half of 2026. In the last 30 days PeakD averaged around 280 posts per day, close to the low for the period.

This chart still follows the broader market cycle, although with smaller volatility.

Comments

The chart above was only about posts.
What about comments? PeakD introduced Snaps, a short form so the activity here should be going up.

Here is the number of comments made per day from PeakD.

We can clearly see the pump at the end of 2024, from around 4k to above 6k comments daily for a short period.
During the bull market in 2021-2022 the peaks were above 8k comments per day, far above the recent range.

In the last 30 days this number averaged around 1.8k comments per day. It was almost unchanged from the previous 30 days, but remains well below the levels seen in 2024 and early 2025.

Posts and Comments

When we combine the posts and comments on one chart we get this.

image.png

The comments are dominating the chart as there are more comments than posts. Posts and comments were in the range of 6k to 8k up to April 2024, then dropped to around 4k in the summer of 2024. After a short increase at the end of 2024, the decline accelerated in 2026. The latest 30-day average is around 2.1k per day.

When we plot the numbers on a monthly timeframe we get this.

image.png

A peak at the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 with up to 250k monthly posts and comments. Since then there has been a drop, with December 2025 just above 100k and new lows in 2026. June recorded 62.7k, while July increased by around 5% to 65.9k. August is partial, with 6k in the first three days.

Active Authors

How about the numbers of the authors on the PeakD. How many accounts are posting?

Here is a chart for the monthly numbers of accounts posting.

image.png

The all-time high for MAUs on PeakD was back in April 2022, with 7.5k monthly active users making posts and comments. This dropped toward 4k in 2024, with a spike above 5k in December 2024.
In 2026 the decline continued from 3.1k users in January to 1.9k in June. July moved slightly higher to 2k monthly active users, while August is still a partial month.

Next the number of unique authors that posted from PeakD. These are authors that posted directly through the frontend.

image.png

The number of unique PeakD authors is still showing continuous growth, but the pace has slowed significantly in the last period.

There are now around 45k unique authors that have used PeakD to post. A total of 675 new accounts tried PeakD for the first time in 2026 through August 3. In comparison, 4.4k new accounts used PeakD in 2025 and 5.8k in 2024.

Authors that Posted the Most

Here is the rank of the authors that posted the most in the last 30 days on PeakD.

image.png

There are still some automated or very high-frequency accounts at the top. Alucian leads with 103 posts, followed by drax with 87.
There are also community-run projects that report regularly and genuine accounts across the rest of the ranks.

Authors that Commented the Most

Here is the rank of the authors that commented the most in the last 30 days on PeakD.

image.png

More genuine accounts when it comes to commenting compared with posting, although some high-frequency activity as well. Wiseagent leads by a wide margin with 3,197 comments, followed by marsdave and avdesing. Great job with the engagement for the top accounts here.

Overall, the downtrend in PeakD activity remains clear, especially through the first half of 2026. July brought a small improvement in monthly activity and active users, while the latest 30-day averages were almost flat compared with the previous 30 days. This looks more like stabilization at a low level than a recovery, although the cumulative number of authors has now passed 45k.

All the best
