My ideal weekend

I love weekends so much and I greatly value the time I spend with everyone - not having to think of being responsible, either nursing a hangover from Friday night's rave or planning for the hangover I'm expecting from Saturday's rave. I have two ideal weekends and the choice of which one I want to experience is dependent on my mood - I have the one for when I am in the mood to be an extrovert and the one for when I am in the mood to be an introvert.

When I want to just be by myself and inactive, my Saturday typically starts at about 10 am when I wake up - I go straight to my phone to reply to messages and generally look for trouble on Twitter and Whatsapp. I do this till about past 11, which is when I realize I am yet to set up my FPL team for the week and proceed to do so. While doing this, I go through the matches for the day to pick out the ones I want to watch, before proceeding to get breakfast and snacks before the first kick-off. The rest of the ideal day goes by with me just smoking a joint, watching and shouting about football, tweeting and texting in the process, and just happy to be alive generally.

A typical Sunday after such laid-back Saturday involves church, breakfast at a friend's house (tradition), more football, and maybe a movie, or a stroll. Saturdays are usually the key days - Sundays are often a blur, with some sleep involved.

On the days I choose to be buzz lightyear, it's almost always the beach. I live close to the water so there are a number of beach experiences to choose from. It's either beach with the boys (Elegushi), a beach link-up with old friends (usually Landmark beach resort), or a beach hangout with old colleagues (Oniru). Writing this has made me realize that this is exactly how I choose which beach I'm going to spend my day on. Oh, there's one more - when I'm out with just my flatmates, it is usually the private beach at the back of my house (no name for this one).

The beach hangouts usually involve a lot of alcohol, sometimes a joint or two, music, and a lot of good vibes. I love every type of weekend I have and I'm just always glad to satisfy what my mood feels like doing.
