Tech site liable for content? Nooooo!
Stories like this scare me. Making tech site liable for content means all of these sites would be required to police all content. This is just a continuation of the death of the free web. Discussion forum site owners would be responsible for posts made by their users. The person making the post should be responsible, not the site they are posting on.
I feel this is just another notch in the effort to wipe out anonymous content because sites will want to verify identity so they can block users with content they don’t like for any reason they come up with.
