Winter Surprise

I walked out to the front porch this morning and saw that it had snowed during the night. This was unexpected but yet a very nice surprise. It is amazing at how quiet things are when it snows in a rural environment. The silence is so powerful that you can actually hear the snow hitting the ground. I enjoy being away from the fast-paced world and allowing myself to take in all of the beauty that nature has to offer. Sometimes we need to slow down and really look at the simple things that surround us. You might be relieved and find comfort in just relaxing for a few moments and letting your mind rest.
