What the Pandemic Means for Bitcoin / Crypto

The pandemic outbreak, which shall not be named, is a test for the theories about financial assets, new and old, in a modern world. As the news seems to get worse each day, the US and global economy is on the brink of collapse. But it has been on the brink of collapse for decades, due to the imbalance of consumption without production, and debt issuance without cash assets, savings and otherwise, to back it. This is due to fractional reserve lending, artificially low interest rates, and a society that rewards taking on debt.

Will this end up being positive or negative for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies? Will Bitcoin be able to compete as a store of value for exchange between individuals?
