Targeted market:
Supply chain is an incalculable trillion dollar plus market. Supply chain is the process that transports manufactured products to consumers. It's such a large market that we can only get a rough estimate of it's market share which is in the trillions.
The Goal of the currency is to provide a quick and easy way to track/verify products being transported from Manufacturing -> transportation of the product -> Consumer.
JD.com the second largest Asian e-commerce company with 362 billion revenue awarded Devery.io with appointing it to it's incubator program. The incubator program is essentially funding being provided from JD.com, and JD.com's computer engineering department providing expert advise and opinion. It's possible that the incubator program will be developed to run as an integration program with the idea of integrating Devery's service into JD.com's supplychain. This would be done in order to prevent shrink.
Shrink is the term given to products/items that are stolen while in transit. If you've ever been around a warehouse or the back end of a retail store you are probably aware of how easy it's to walk off with merchandise/product when it's being unloaded from truck to inventory. Well it turns out that shrink has been increasing proportional to wages dropping, and it's a tremendous issue for companies, and anyone involved in the transportation of products. Devery's unique blockchain solution could provide an end-to-purchase system that would be a drastic improvement on the prevention of shrink.
