Another day, another freewrite! Went a bit more freeform with this one, let my mind wander a bit more than usual. Enjoy!

What do you do when there's no way forward? Sometimes I find it useful to sit down, stop, and just take a short break. Sure, there are those things which require constant persistence and dedication, and those qualities should be rewarded and admired. But, sometimes after a while of hammering away at a brick wall, you realize that your swings don't have quit the impact they did when you started, or perhaps your hammer has seen better days. Wouldn't it be the wiser move to take a break?
Yet so many would say that's foolish, to just pick up your hammer, ignore your body and swing again, and again, and again. You'll make progress, though it'll be measured in flakes of brick.
Things move so fast these days that you hardly have time to stop and think like you ought. Part of me wonders if that's the real reason behind a lot of the chaotic things that seem to be going on in the world today; not enough time to calm the hell down and see the big picture before just charging towards that wall, hammer in hand. Not long enough to consider why you're hammering away at that wall, anyways.
