The list of jazz musicians who could watch a Kirk video and not feel disgustingly lazy is not a long one. Over the course of "Volunteered Slavery," Kirk plays a couple different saxes (sometimes at the same time), a gong, a conch, and, uh, if he counts breaking a chair as playing an instrument (probably does), he plays that too — all without losing the crowd or the funk. How we never voted this guy president before he died of a stroke (after a performance, natch) in 1977 is one you'll have to explain to me.
