The Pulse Beneath Everything - AUDIO REACTIVITY
Heads up! This video contains loud audio. Please lower your volume before playing.
I like the reactive elements and the control that comes with the song. Even though sometimes the visuals are not really great, the fact that the sync is with the audio makes it look pretty.
I often create images for my posts that come out of experiments like this.
The result above could be altered completely depending on the song I may use.
Below, you can see alterations that can be created using,

In this experiment, I explored different ways of converting audio into visual motion using CHOP to TOP workflows. The initial audio-reactive effect was functional, but it did not create the kind of movement I was looking for. I then used UV coordinates to displace noise and other visual sources, including the possibility of using video inputs, which added more organic motion. While feedback introduced a sense of continuity and flow, the result still felt like general movement rather than a strong audio-reactive visual. The breakthrough came when I applied edge detection and compositing techniques, as they emphasized the outlines and lines within the image, making the music feel more visible through pulsing and shifting forms. I further experimented with mirroring and tiling to create symmetrical patterns, although some variations appeared more like a collage than a unified composition. To refine the final look, I added effects such as bloom, pixelation, and tunnel distortion, which helped blend the elements together and create a more immersive visual aesthetic. Although I personally preferred some of the earlier variations, the final version combines the strongest aspects of the process and may appeal to a wider audience due to its balance of structure, motion, and audio responsiveness.
I hate to plug myself, but I have found my space, a small space on Patreon. I create free tutorials and files that I share with the whole network, which can be plugged in and played, or added onto as well.
It is wonderful to see that even though my primary focus has been writing, and visuals were something I came to only later, the support for that side of things has been far greater.
It is just like anything in life. You never think you need it, until one day you do.
The TOX file is available on my Patreon along with more free files, resources, and projects I share regularly. Link is below.
