To answer the question ["Do you think it is possible to completely escape Big Tech surveillance?"] (@atamme/week-13-questions-the-dangers) asked by atamme@atamme, I believe that it is no longer possible to completely escape Big Tech surveillance no matter where in the world you live or how you choose to do so. Technology these days is so significantly advanced that it is impossible to escape sight of it without completely running away and hiding in the woods, living completely off the grid. Even if this is the case, however, Big Tech companies such as Google would still be able to track a person’s whereabouts and use technology like Google Street View or Google Earth in order to see what changes that specific person had made to the terrain and their section of land that they of made their off-the-grid living on. With this in mind, it shows how it is now completely impossible to escape the watchful eyes of Big Tech anywhere on Earth. Without an escape from this form of surveillance and technological oversight, many people are made extremely uncomfortable by the thought of constant watching and recording of their daily lives. Understandably, this is an issue that remains at the forefront of many debates and discussions across the world.
