The Disappointed Fall of Me and The People I Avoid for peace
The prompt topics is interesting but I will respond briefly on just two that brings back a memory.
The day I was disappointed with myself
It was my first time of accepting to be a bridesmaid at a friend's wedding.
I was among the bridal train, we had arrived the reception hall and was immediately ushered to sit at the high table facing the groomsmen. My paired partner threw some glances for a connection but i ignored him.
Everything was going smoothly till it was time for the bouquet to be thrown by the bride.
We were asked to stepped out to the front of the hall where there was enough room for more people. It was like a voice in my head saying to me, do not go you will be pushed down. Like I heard it twice. One of my former colleagues asked me not to join the queue but I was adamant.
And went ahead to join others, I didn't know how it happened so fast that I remember vividly seeing myself lying on the floor.
The newly wed were shocked and speechless, i could see the look of disappointment on their face.
I managed to get up alone and picked my heels. I could not even lift my head up. I was so embarrassed while my paired groomsman was really laughing loud. Although he acted as a gentleman by trying to cheer me up by pouring me a glass of wine. After I finished drinking it, I used him as a shield to leave the hall because all eyes was on me and fingers were pointing in my direction.
That incident was the end of the day's wedding for me.
I was so disappointed with myself for refusing to listen to the inner voice probably i would have save myself from that embarrassment with a bruised, broken skin and ruined makeup.
I told myself that I was never going to allow myself to be embarrassed before a lot of people again😔. I sure did better in the subsequent bridesmaids duties. That fall taught me the art of not just listening but obeying instructions.
The type of people I have problems relating with and why
I find it very difficult to relate with people who are controlling. They do not care about other people's emotions, feelings or opinions. They want things to be done in their own way, it is almost as if others do not matter or exist. They want to take the lead even when it's oppressive or domineering. They don't ask politely or calmly, they are commanding. They make others feel small, unheard even oppressed.
Another set of people are those who cannot acknowledge mistakes and accept corrections peaceably.
They feel acknowledging mistakes and corrections is weakness. Even if they are in the wrong, they find it very difficult to apologize. They always want to create a scene with every single confrontation.
Some people who turn employment or training programs to servitude. They will intentionally ask you to carry out duties like cleaning, washing running errands something that is outside your job description simply because you work for them. They are practicing human resource exploitation. Due to low or no employment opportunities, some people have to endure their subordination and maltreatment.
It would have been better if they were paid extra for it.
Sometimes if they flaunt the directives, their salary will be surcharged or their training period extended.
People especially some parents and teachers who give double punishment for an offense at the same time. Punishing someone twice becomes humiliation. It can shatter a person's emotional and mental well-being. Choose a suitable method to chastise for each situation and not to chase away. Correct with love and in love.
Giving others opportunities to participate and contribute makes a healthier community.
