Welcome To Gonzoville

For several years now, I've been on a mission from our lord and savior Dr. Raoul Duke to put the gonzo into photojournalism. This mission didn't happen to come with instructions, or even the vaguest notion of an outline of how to accomplish it, so there's been a good bit of fumbling along and not a great deal of success.

Was working my way through all the photos from the Kentucky Derby this past weekend when the lightbulb lit up and it hit me: people are gonzo! Just need to get out of my own way and stop trying too hard and let the gonzo come to me.

Didn't get a chance to get in my own way Saturday, the gonzo came calling first, begging me to take its photo.

Yeehaw y'all! Nothing for it but to lean into it.

The ponies have done pranced off and the hangovers are starting to wear off, but the gonzo isn't going anywhere. Stay weird y'all.
