Strolling Southern

The weather this summer has been weird, drought interspersed with torrential downpours and hot like a summer from the early 1990s. Which is to say downright pleasant in comparison to anything in recent memory. That all changed today, and for the next week or two it's going to feel like triple digits on the Fahrenheit scale during the day and about 30C at the coolest part of the night.

Seemed like a good occasion to revisit photos from cooler times. Went for a sushi and street photography walk a couple weeks ago, wandered down the Southern Parkway with a 70-200 hanging off the Nikon and never quite made it back to editing the photos.

Have been shooting more events and actions as of late, haven't gotten to just wander the streets nearly as much as I'd like. I blame this Jumanji timeline we seem to be stuck in.

Growing up, they told us that communism was bad because it was totalitarian police state that surveilled everyone. Thankfully, capitalism would never do something like that. Right, guys?.?.?.? Always thought Big Brother was supposed to be the government, but it seems Uncle Sam has outsourced the job judging by Louisville's infestation of Flock cameras.

The sushi was at a food hall just off Southern Parkway on Woodlawn, place called the Streatery. Got some of the best sushi in the city, but this feller is almost always out front with his siren smells, trying to lure unwary passersby from their task at hand.
