Mornings
Mornings are not my thing. At least the after waking part, the wee hours of the morning before I've made it to bed is a different story. Can you believe some people actually like getting up early? Gets really weird when you stay up too late and go wandering as the sun is coming up, end up running into some of them morning people and they're coming at you from the future with their 'good morning' nonsense. Almost enough to make you want to dump bourbon in their decaf.
Sadly, there are occasions that call for getting up early to get the shot you want. To practice for those, I've been intermittently trying to get up early to shoot the sunrise and morning golden hour. Haven't had much luck with catching the sun coming up yet but did manage to muck about during some of that lovely light.
Pretty sure my brain works better after dark, prefer to write when the morning people are all going to bed. Don't know that I write any better at night but I'm definitely less surly then. Where's my night owls at? Clicking 'publish' at 0200 does make those sunrise alarms a little hard to hear though.
Couple of these are from a morning that wasn't supposed to be an early one, but a weather alert for dense fog got me out of the house anyways. Being on a river makes for plenty of fog but it's no guarantee, went to the waterfront looking for it one morning and was out of luck.
There's a special breed of morning people that like to exercise at unholy hours, when the only thing that should be getting a workout is the coffee pot. Will never understand those folks. During the summer those are about the only hours you can exercise and not be flirting with heatstroke, but why pass up a chance to both sleep and flirt?
If you must be up in the early morning, the woods are probably the best place for it. The birds are singing and all the critters that haven't discovered coffee are cheerfully going about their day. It's officially morning now, should probably be hitting that trail to bed.
